So what actually is it? If you are thinking “Kinesy – what?”, you are not alone as everyone asks this question!

Kinesiology can be a little difficult to explain.  The reason for this is that it encompasses all realms of your health.

During your consultation nutritional, structural, emotional and energetic aspects of a person are all taken into account, making it a tremendously powerful and effective way of looking at things.

It is often the case that the cause of an issue is not where the symptoms lie.  For example, IBS may be the result of a food sensitivity or it could be an emotional issue; a hip problem could be the result of a jaw imbalance or a nutritional deficiency.  Sciatica can often be related to an imbalance in the jaw, lower back pain could be due to dehydration and achy joint could be a gluten sensitivity! If a structural issue was actually caused by a nutritional deficiency, countless visits to someone addressing the physical aspects of this problem alone would only temporarily help because the underlying cause of that nutritional deficiency wasn’t being addressed.  Hence why the whole person approach is an effective one.

How does Kinesiology work?

During your consultation, Liza uses simple yet precise muscle testing to gauge your body’s responses to different techniques, nutritional supplements and other substances.  Your body naturally knows what it needs to get well, and it communicates this with Liza through its responses.  Your muscles function like a switch and if it is balanced and strong it will remain switched ‘on’, and if it is imbalanced or weak it will switch ‘off.  Once the root cause is identified, Liza can support you on your journey back to health with the appropriate process.

Kinesiology does NOT diagnose disease, it simply enables your practitioner to detect minor functional imbalances within your body.

Do you think about what happens behind the scenes?

Your body is an absolute marvel, carrying out countless processes every second of the day, generally without us knowing very much about them.  If something is out of balance then your body naturally compensates to keep everything functioning as well as possible.  Unfortunately, compensations can lead to further compensations which may ultimately manifest in the form of an intolerance, pain or discomfort and ill health.  Kinesiology aims to be a preventative therapy too, helping you back to balance before these compensations manifest to anything further.
